This forum has been set up to facilitate communication, organization and support between some supercool individuals who are taking MITx's intro to computer science class.
☼ Class can be found here: www.edx.org/course/mitx/mitx-6-00-1x-introduction-computer-1498
This address seems to change sometimes. If you get a 404 error, simply go to edx.org and search for "computer science" in the school "MITx". Then, just click on the intro to comp sci 6.00.1x class. I will try to keep the link current.
☼ Our chatroom can be found here: webchat.quakenet.org/
Thanks to Garin
☼ Class begins 19 Feb 2014.
Be there.
*Update*
☼ 2011 syllabus can be found here: ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00sc-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-spring-2011/Syllabus/

Here is a copy of the PM sent to those who showed interest in the course on /r/learnpython:
Hey all, I'm messaging you because you showed an interest thread for the EDX intro to computer science course starting Feb 19th. (link: www.edx.org/course/mitx/mitx-6-00-1x-introduction-computer-1498 )
In an effort to keep us in contact for support and discussion and just because it's cool, Garin94 and I have put together a couple of communication options for our use.
I have set up a forum here: pythoncs.freeforums.net/ I am aware that it's a bit of a hassle to sign up for a forum and have to activate it in order to post and whatnot, so if you don't feel like signing up there, no problem. We can use the board mainly for organizing group chats, class discussions, etc. for those who wish to do so. If you don't feel like setting up a chat schedule yourself or discussing things on the board, you can just take a look at it and see what other people are doing that you can participate in.
Garin94 set up a sweet little browser chat room for us at webchat.quakenet.org/ and channel #pythoncs. There is no activation required for the chat room, it's very simple and quick.
I will make an additional post or two as we get nearer to the class start date in order to get as many people involved as possible.
I look forward to a great learning experience with all of you, with some great discussion and support. Let me know about any suggestions, questions or comments you have.[/font]
